China Southern Airlines places major order with Airbus

Airbus can look forward to a bulk order.

China Southern Airlines has ordered 96 planes.

China Southern Airlines is making a big purchase from Airbus. The Chinese airline has signed a contract for 96 medium-haul jets from the A320neo series, as announced on the Shanghai stock exchange on Friday. According to the price list, the order has a total value of around 12.2 billion US dollars (11.7 billion euros), but the actual price is lower.

When it comes to aircraft purchases, large discounts are common. Airbus shares rose more than three percent after the news.

The first 30 machines are said to be delivered in 2024, 40 jets are to follow in 2025, 19 in 2026 and the last 7 machines in 2027.
